Reminders appear here every Sunday (weekly) and on the 1st of the month (monthly). You can complete or edit these anytime.
Set aside fifteen to twenty minutes for reflection. Be truthful about both successes and struggles. Include spiritual, personal, family, relationship, professional, health, and other categories as you see fit.
On the first of each month, take twenty minutes and read all four weekly reflections together.
Review your weekly reflections together.
Set one goal prayerfully with God. Make sure it is achievable and doable in one month.
Remember — you are not pursuing these goals alone. Don't stress over the areas you aren't working on. There are coming months ahead to focus on another goal. Focusing on one at a time assures that you get it done. It's better to have only one goal completed than to have 3 goals partially completed while adding to your stress and guilt.

Welcome.
Your brain repeats what you feed it. When you look for the same thing every day, your brain gets faster at finding it. That's how thinking habits form. That's also how thinking patterns change.
Right now your brain's trained on loss. It scans for what went wrong. It replays the last conversation. And it believes the thoughts the enemy has fed you over and over and over about being unworthy or unlovable. That pattern was built by repetition, and it can be rebuilt the same way. That's why this journal is such an essential part of the program. It allows you to see patterns of thinking that you might not notice otherwise. You'll discover things about yourself.
Writing does something thinking can't. Thoughts disappear. Written words stay. You can go back in July and read what God did for you in March, even when you can't feel it. A record is stronger than a memory.
This journal trains three elemental things:
The journal runs through the course and coaching. It's where the work gets recorded and where change becomes visible. Refer to it in your coaching. Use it during the course. Keep writing in it after the course ends.
Each day has three sections. Ten minutes is enough.
Three things you're grateful for. Write three things from today. Answered prayer counts. Sunshine counts. Hot water counts. Pain medicine counts. Our failures and challenges also count, if you can see them as the blessings they are: teachers, movers, detours to the correct direction. Don't skip the section. The list isn't the point. Teaching your brain to hunt for good is the point.
Three victories over darkness. Write three moments today you chose light over darkness, God's way over the Enemy, right over easy. Big or small both count. You forgave. You stayed quiet instead of saying something back. You prayed instead of worrying. You got out of bed. You chose the better food. You did the chore you'd been avoiding. If your spirit beat your body, it's a victory. Write it down.
Small wins train the brain fastest because there are more of them. Don't skip them because they look ordinary.
At the bottom of each day's page there's also an Encouragement section. It gives you gentle reminders that might help you on a tough day or if you feel stuck. Tap the refresh button beside it for a new one.
Once a week, take fifteen minutes and answer the questions in the app. A week is long enough to show you something a single day can't. You'll start to see what's actually working and what keeps tripping you up. That's how you catch a problem while it's still small instead of after it's grown into a pattern. It's also how you hold yourself accountable, set the next week's goal purposefully, and walk into the week ahead with a plan.
Be honest about what didn't go well. A review that only lists wins teaches you nothing.
On the first of each month, take twenty minutes and read all four weekly reviews together.
Look for patterns. You can't see change day to day. You can see it across a month. Find what improved and name it exactly. "I'm less angry" is vague. "I didn't raise my voice at anyone this month" is real.
Find the repeats. If the same struggle shows up in three weekly reviews, that's your work for next month. If the same victory shows up every week, that area's getting stronger. Both are useful information.
Set one goal. Only one. Focus on it. Make it specific enough to measure. Not "pray more." Instead: "Pray ten minutes before I pick up my phone."
For your goal, write down:
Short counts. On a hard day, write three gratitudes and three victories and stop. Six lines is a complete entry. Length isn't the measure.
Write every day. Seven days a week. This is easier than writing most days. One skipped day gives you permission for the next one. Don't argue with yourself about it. The only exception should be a medical emergency, which you should write down the next day.
Be honest. Write what's actually true, not what sounds spiritual. If you're angry, say so. If you have doubts, say so. But don't write on and on about those emotions. This is to let you record them, not wallow in them. The purpose of this journal is to move you forward by training your brain, your expectations, your vision, your identity, and your mindset. The goal is a habit that moves you forward. Do record your difficulties and challenges. Do record your honest emotions. Do write what life is actually like. You will see a pattern over time that teaches you something about your thinking.
You can write the last section (or all of it) as if you're writing to God if you want. Or to future you in one year. Make it your own.
Ignore spelling and grammar. No one's grading this.
What you write is encrypted on your device. To anyone else, including Marit, it reads as gibberish. It's private and secure.
Marit only sees your name, your email, and if you've fallen behind. If you're in the coaching program and go three or four days without an entry, expect a text or a call to check on you. The habit is what makes this journal work, and a few missed days is how a habit breaks.
You can attach up to two photos per day, up to 8 MB each. This isn't a photo storage app, so you can't download them as photo files.
You can download your entire journal as a PDF, photos included. The photos may download smaller than the original file.
You can delete your account at any time. You then have 15 days to reinstate it before it's gone for good. That window is there to protect you from accidental deletion.
If you leave the program early or on bad terms, your access can be revoked. You'll have 90 days to download your data before it's deleted.
Marit reserves the right to revoke usage to anyone, at any time, for any reason.
The first two weeks are the hardest. Around week three it usually stops feeling like a chore. Over time you stop being a woman who's trying to journal and become a woman who journals. That shift is the goal. Identity changes first. Behavior follows.
Some months will show growth. Some will show setbacks. Record both. A month of setbacks isn't failure. Recording it honestly allows you to see it clearly, and our failures teach the most and are where growth happens.
Progress, not perfection. Keep writing.
May this journal be a blessing to you, and may you be enriched by the good word of God as you watch the patterns of your life appear before your eyes.
Blessings and prayers,
Marit
